EL CAMPELLO

Beautiful sandy beaches, small coves... beautiful scenery, but also walking and cycling routes for walks in the surrounding mountains.

The harbour is divided into two distinct parts: the marina, where the "Club Nautico Campello" is located, with more than 400 moorings, and the fishing harbour next door, with about 30 moorings. In its Fish Market, from Monday to Friday, the auction and sale of fresh fish takes place. The spectacle offered during the haggling is so picturesque that it attracts not only buyers but also a multitude of onlookers.

El Campello has a long coastline full of beaches and coves of all kinds, from small rocky coves such as Coveta Fumà, sandy coves such as Cala Venta and La Nuza, to long golden sandy beaches such as Carrer la mar, next to the fishermen's quarter and Muchavista.

Muchavista beach, with more than 3 km. of fine, clear sand, is surrounded by high mountains and has a promenade that joins San Juan beach in Alicante without geographical division. A few kilometres inland, the caves of Canalobre, which are of great speleological interest, are worth visiting.

SAN JUAN DE ALICANTE.

The most famous beaches and coves in the city are La Playa del Postiguet, La Playa de San Juan, La Playa de la Albufereta and Cala Cantalar, the latter located in the Cabo de la Huerta district, in a natural environment that is very attractive to naturalists.

Postiguet beach is the city's beach par excellence. It is located about five minutes walk from the centre and is a favourite with students, senior citizens and tourists staying in the city centre hotels.

San Juan beach has more than 6 km of good quality sand and a spectacular sea. It has a promenade full of restaurants, ice cream parlours, cafes and bars. Ideal for family trips and sports. You can get there by tram (about half an hour from the centre of Alicante).

Between the two above is the beach of Albufera, a small cove (about 500 metres) which is mythical and quite quiet. Nearby, to the north, you can approach the nudist and rocky beaches near Cabo de la Huerta.
